This open and inviting home in an established South Austin neighborhood takes inspiration from both the traditional ranch style as well as mid-century modernism and brings those elements into a more contemporary diagram for a modern family home. The plan divides neatly into a public zone, private master suite, and a guest and kids bedroom wing. Spaces flow together from the main entry through the expansive kitchen and lofty living area, and then out through a generous covered patio with outdoor kitchen and pool area.
The soft, contemporary forms are accented with traditional limestone and natural wood that bring a warmth and texture to the exterior. The building takes its layout from the geometry of the obtuse corner lot and the massive trees that frame the masses and provide dappled shade to the outdoor spaces.
